After finishing his chemistry degree, he earned a Master of Divinity and served churches in NC, WV, and PA. He and his family have been at CCCS since 2005.

While God and the Bible are the ultimate authority for The Christian Church at Cogan Station, there is a leadership structure to keep the day-to- day operations and ministry of the church moving correctly. The leadership of CCCS has a few integral parts. CCCS is first and foremost an elder-led church. The elders provide oversight, vision, and guidance to the corporate side of the church and most importantly the spiritual side of the church. The elders’ leadership is expressed through the ministry of the staff. Lead Pastor Mark Beard provides the leadership and everyday decision making for the staff and also serves as an elder. The staff is made up of full-time ministry staff, full-time support staff, and part-time ministry and support staff. Worship Arts Pastor, Cameron Watford, oversees the everyday decisions within the Worship/Arts Ministry, Congregational Care, and Men’s Discipleship. At the end of the day, the Christian Church at Cogan Station leadership ensures that everything that is done honors Jesus as Lord and Savior and lifts Him up as the true Leader of His Church.
